Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: your name and email address, plus your password or sign-in details, used to create and secure your account.
- Medication information: medication names, strengths, schedules, reminder times, refill details, and notes you add, such as side effects.
- Dose and health logs: doses you mark as taken or skipped (and when), missed or late doses, and tracker entries such as pain, dizziness, nausea, sleep, and weight.
- Care Team information: the name and email address of caregivers you invite.
- Prescription label photos: if you choose to scan a label, the photo you take with your camera (see AI features).
- Support messages: anything you send us when you contact support.
Information collected automatically
- Identifiers: an account ID and a notification token so we can send reminders and Care Team alerts to your device.
- Purchase information: whether you have an active MyMeds+ subscription and its purchase history. Payments are processed by Apple. We never see or store your card details.
- Technical and diagnostic information: basic information such as app version, device model, operating system, crash reports, and performance data, used to keep the app working.
We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, or your browsing history.
How we use your information
- To run the app: show today's doses, send reminders, record your history, calculate adherence, and create the reports you request.
- To sync and back up your data to your account so it's there when you sign in.
- To personalize reminders. For example, MyMeds+ smart reminders adjust to the times you actually log your doses.
- To send Care Team alerts to caregivers you've invited, if you turn this on.
- To manage your subscription and restore purchases.
- To respond to support requests, fix bugs, and keep the service secure.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example, in the UK and EU), we rely on your explicit consent for health information, which you can withdraw at any time. For other information, we rely on what's needed to provide the service you asked for (contract) and our legitimate interest in keeping it secure and working well.
AI features
Some features use artificial intelligence provided by a third party. We always ask for your permission in the app before sending your information to an AI service. You can use Meds AI without these features by entering medications manually.
- Label scanning: when you scan a prescription label, the photo is sent securely to our server and then, through Vibecode's AI gateway, to a third-party AI service provider acting on our behalf, which reads the medication name, strength, and directions. You review and confirm every detail before anything is saved.
- Smart reminders and alerts (MyMeds+): To suggest reminder times and show side effect or interaction information, the app may process your medication list and dose times, which may include sending them to the AI service provider described above, only with your permission. Side effect and interaction information is general information that may be generated by AI or drawn from third-party reference sources, and it may be incomplete.
AI providers process this information only to return a result to the app. We don't allow them to use your information to train their models where that option is available. AI results can be wrong, so always check them. Nothing in the app is medical advice.
Care Team sharing
If you invite someone to your Care Team, they will be able to see information about you, such as your name, your medications and schedule, doses taken or missed, and your adherence. If you turn on missed-dose alerts, they'll be notified when a dose is missed. Only invite people you trust. You can remove a caregiver at any time, and they'll stop receiving new information. If someone invites you as a caregiver, please respect the privacy of the information they share with you.
When you export a report as a PDF or send it by email, you choose who receives it. Once it's shared, the recipient's own privacy practices apply.
Service providers
We use a small number of companies to run the app. They may only use your information to provide their service to us:
- Vibecode hosts our servers, database, and account system (at
vibecode.run) and routes AI requests to our AI service provider. - A third-party AI service provider, acting on our behalf, reads label photos and powers AI features, but only after you give permission.
- RevenueCat manages subscription status and restores purchases.
- Apple processes App Store payments and delivers push notifications.
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for international transfers. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a transfer of the app to a new owner (in which case this policy will continue to apply).
What we never do
- We don't sell or rent your personal information.
- We don't show ads, and we don't use your health information for advertising, marketing, or profiling.
- We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We don't share your information with data brokers.
How long we keep data
- Your account and health records are kept while your account is active, so your history is there when you need it.
- When your account is deleted, we delete your personal information from our active systems within 30 days. Any backup copies are removed as our hosting provider’s backups are routinely overwritten.
- Label photos are kept only as long as needed to read them.
- We may keep limited records longer if the law requires it, for example subscription transaction records.
Deleting your account
You can request deletion of your account and data by emailing support@mymeds.site from the email address on your account. We'll permanently remove your profile, medications, logs, tracker entries, and Care Team connections. This can't be undone.
Deleting the app or your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it in iPhone Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can view and edit your information in the app at any time.
- Export: you can export your records as a report.
- Permissions: you can turn off camera, notification access in iPhone Settings. Features that need them will stop working, but you can still enter medications by hand.
- AI consent: you can withdraw your consent for AI features at any time. You can keep using Meds AI by entering medications manually, and you can email us to ask us to stop any AI processing.
- Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK, or US states such as California), you may also have rights to request a copy of your data, to ask us to delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Email us to make a request. We'll respond within the time the law requires and won't discriminate against you for making one.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), access to your account is protected by your login, and we limit who can access data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your phone locked.
Children
Meds AI is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the minimum age where you live). A parent or guardian may use the app to manage a child's medications from the parent's own account. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app before it takes effect.
